Reaching for the Stars

Everyone wants to be successful today. We are living in a world where everyone wants to be successful at any cost. Are we ready to pay the cost for success? These are some questions that cross my mind while looking at the youth today. It is frightening.

In a world where everyone is driven by the desire for money, success and fame. Are we ready to do anything to achieve it? To highlight the condition of Indian economy today, whether it is Coalgate or The Kanda case, wrong decisions were taken on account of greed. In today's time it is important to be successful, powerful and well known. However equally important is to have your integrity intact.

'Yes i succeeded but i don't feel happy about it', is a condition alot of youth witness today. Its important to reach for the stars, however its more important to keep the star alive within you.

Searching for gratitude

A friend once told me' it doesn't cost to be kind.' There was a whole debate going on in my mind if it doesn't cost, then why are we not kind? I wish there was a price tag attached to kindness, atleast we would be in a position to buy it.

Times have really changed, everything is taken for granted. If you look at democracy, it is taken for granted, comforts taken for granted, relations taken for granted and even life is taken for granted. The attitude today is if i have it, it is fair otherwise unfair.

I miss those genuine thank you which were the most precious gifts to receive. The Britishers did an amazing job by inventing these magical words. Its works like a jaadu ki jaapi, in a age where even a hug is a style statement and not a i like you statement.

A new term is evolving in marketing known as flash mob.It is when a group of people assemble in a public place to perform a dance or any small act to spread happiness or a social message. Will we have to resort to this to spread happiness?

Something that was natural has become processed and packaged. My advice - thank for all the small things in life because they ultimately become big and spread it like a viral which gets 1 million clicks.

Paradise split

You can have everything in life and yet loose it. Have you ever experienced this phenomenon? It takes alot of hardwork to create things and one wrong step you can loose all of it.

Paradise is a place in which existence is positive, harmonious and timeless . It is conceptually a counter-image of the miseries of human civilization,  and in paradise there is only peace, prosperity, and happiness. Paradise is a place of contentment. It is dream of every individual to be a part of such a land. There is a cost attached to living in paradise. It requires your complete commitment, dedication, love and most of all honesty. The moment you betray its trust its starts splitting, cracking and disappearing.

The most important word in these times is sustainability. So why are we scared to sustain what we have created? Or is the rule of the game to destroy what is created?

Paradise created by human beings is dying a slow death. You only see conflict, chaos and destruction all around. Every one wants the benefits of living in paradise but no one want to work to create it  and sustain it. Save paradise before it splits and cracks. If action is not taken today, it would seem like it was never there. The biggest victories of mankind have been in preserving what they had and not loosing it.

I Believe...

Growing up is a process which every child looks forward to and once you grow up you want to be a child again. While growing up as a child you always have somebody to fall back on or a shoulder to cry on. Actually CRYING can be an entertaining activity because it gets you so much attention. That's what all children do, to get attention.

As you start growing up, these shoulder vanish and you have to stand on your own two feet. These legs shake in uncertainty. As they say there is always light at the end of the tunnel, at the end of your tunnel you find friends. They become your believe system. They influence your thoughts, your emotions and even your actions.

The question posed is when do we start believing in ourselves ? A bitter truth of life is that nobody knows you better that yourself. Yet we refuse to listen to the voice within and trust what we don't believe in. Whatever question life poses to us we have the answer for the same. It may be a small decision as to 'what product to buy' or a big decision 'what course to study?' We try to find answers in others whereas we know the answer but probably want to hear it from somebody.

Re-conformation should be seeked  from the inside and not the outside.   Learn to believe in yourself as it will make you achieve unbelievable things in life.

I like to end with a quote:

Thousands of geniuses live and die undiscovered - either by themselves or by others.  ~Mark Twain

The Balancing Act

One of the most fascinating things, I love watching is people doing a balancing act on a rope. They are poised and composed and exhibit inner peace while doing an activity which may actually cost them their lives. The calmest emerge as winners.

In today's times, we all are also doing balancing acts all the time. Toddlers, children, teenagers and adults are all trying to lead a balanced life. The word balance is the cool quotient of todays times. We talk of  a balanced diet, a balanced life, balancing work and pleasure, balancing joys and sorrows, balancing friends and family. The list goes on and on. Many a times when we go wrong in life are times when we loose that balance.

Walking the tight rope every moment of your life is a difficult task. While doing this activity many of us fall, bruise ourselves, are scared to do this balancing act again. Loosing balance is natural, afterall we are humans and prone to err.

What's disappointing is that a lot of people today enjoy imbalanced life and go out of their way to proof that this is the way to live a life. Never loose the desire to be balanced and put in your best effort to attain it, cause true balance is true JOY.

Bit - by - Bit

As an Indian, I think we have all grown up in families who taught us the importance of saving money. Saving small quantity of  money everyday would become huge over a period of time. This habit of Indians saved us from recession which affected the whole world.

Any good deed done bit by bit can become enormous over a period of time. The idea is never to stop doing our bit. The system, the country, society fails when everyone waits for the other to do what they should be doing. Finally nobody does what they are suppose to do. Then we start blaming the system for it. Today, we all  want to do all things at one go and at one moment of time. I would like to quote a proverb that 'Rome was not built in a day. '

If you want to create a creation for which the world will remember you, it has to built over a period of time, even in this age of technology.Great creators are people who thought about their problem continuously and not just for one day. Continuity in any activity undertaken is the mantra for success

Do your bit in terms of saving electricity, conserving the environment, being happy, caring for your parents, helping people in distress. Over a period of time it will become BIG & BIG.

Lost in Transit

We live in a competitive world. We spend all our lives competing either with our classmates, colleagues, family members and ourselves. This fierce desire to compete with every person in our lives makes us insecure and lonely. So what ever we get in life, does not create happiness. However if we don't get what we want in life, it creates depression.

The dreams in our eyes wade away. We start living with a stranger who we don't recognize. The understanding of oneself diminishes. All these negative feelings create a confused human being who gets lost and does not know what they desire.

The biggest misery of life is to have lived and not being remembered. Life is confusing, its tough , it does not give you what you want or desire. The greatest human beings are the ones who have the courage to face these adverse situations and still not lose themselves. They give direction to not only themselves but all lifes they touch.

You may get lost in transit in life but have faith in yourself to find your way back.
