Seeing students write exams always fascinates me. There is so much of their personality that they reveal while writing an exam. Some of the qualities they reveal are discipline, initiative, willing to learn and the most important is attitude.
The desire to be a winner through your writing ability is wading away. Today all students deliberately give mediocre performance and then get mediocre results. We say that the 21st Century belongs to those who excel in their abilities. I often wonder what abilities are we talking about?
There are various ways to be successful in life ( I completely agree). However its small things in life which help you achieve success. The first stepping stone to success can be by writing your paper well and completing it. Never leave a job undone. When you write a exam, you are writing your story of whether you are going to be a winner or loser.
SO WRITE TO WIN

Very interesting observation indeed. In current times, students are pressurized to write exams. Exams should be a process of relaxation wherein they should let their creative side out. The moment they enjoy what they do,they will write to win!
ReplyDeleteHello Mam,
ReplyDeleteI really do not blame the education system of India. They have no other option but to have particular format to write exams because of huge number of students. But I find it weird when I hear my friends doing MBA in India writing 3hours for a paper.
One good thing about western education is that here exams are conducted to know how well you have understood the subject. I never gave definitions for a concept here, instead I gave my views and my comment.
At an MBA level I think there should be a change as they have limited paper to correct. It will remove a lot more burden from students and may help in getting quality answers instead of long ones.

Karan.
